Who/What Is This Hair Clipper Suitable For?

This Clipper/Trimmer will make a great gift for a professional stylist, a father, husband or son. It is also a good product to purchase if you want a competent appliance that can give you good results while saving you a lot of money. This item could pay itself of in a few months, if you think about how much you spend every month at the barbers

Design Features

  •  Motor Type

As I mentioned earlier, the Wahl Peanut Clipper is exceptionally powerful. This is because the clipper makes use of a  strong AC-powered rotary motor, which is capable of producing a crazy amount of torque that helps this hair clipper cut through dense facial hair like butter. You can easily cut through dry and wet hair with ease.

No more worrying about whether your clipper can handle the texture of your hair, the Peanut can power through anything!

  • Power Source

The Wahl Professional Peanut trimmer is a mains-operated (plugged in) electrical corded hair clipper meaning it has to be plugged in to be used.

The fact that it is mains operated although restrictive (as you have trailing cables when cutting and you have to be plugged into a power outlet), gives you an added benefit as you are able to use the clipper on a continuous basis over extended periods of time without it losing any power unlike cordless hair clipper.

  • Cord Type & Length

One of the main concerns with mains operated corded clippers is the issue of flexibility to move around without the cord getting in the way not only in terms of the person cutting the hair but also the person receiving the haircut.

The Wahl Peanut Clipper is fitted with a 7 foot long professional graded cord to be precise. This is a little bit short than most of the new clippers which tend to come with 8 foot long cords and above. The cord is that comes with the clipper is made of a chemical resistant material to help protect the cable from wear and tear thus ensuring that it doesn’t quickly disintegrate and that it lasts you for many years to come

  • Blades

The Wahl Peanut Clipper Trimmer comes with a Snap-on blade system which eliminates the need for any tensioning or blade alignment.

The blades themselves are made of high grade steel, quite sharp and would last you for years to come. You can easily achieve a cutting length of 0.4mm. To achieve longer lengths all you need to do is add the guide combs that came with the clipper

The blades are unfortunately not designed to be sharpened.. they are designed as disposable blades, so you will need to replace the blade system when the blades gets blunt. The Wahl Peanut Clipper blades are however not too expensive and they just pop on.

See the video below

  • Guide Combs

The Wahl Peanut hai clipper is composed of multiple attachments which work to provide you with freedom and versatility when it comes to cutting your hair. These four attachments range in length from 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch, giving you the chance to style both short and long hair.

The Wahl Peanut Clipper comes with 4 different guide combs (3.0 millimeters, 3.8 mm, 6 mm, and 13 mm) giving you the chance to style both short and long hair. The Comb guides are made of far sturdier plastic than the ones that came with most of the trimmers on the market.

There are some concerns about how the guides attach to the trimmer’s body. Holding them in place is a single clip that mates to the back of the trimmer; if the guide isn’t correctly locked in place, you run the risk of it popping off midway through a trim. That’s a grooming nightmare.

But if you can live with these shortcomings, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more powerful, longer-lasting trimmer for the price.

Build Quality

Weighing 4 ounces and measuring only 4 inches in length, the Peanut Clipper is easy to hold and maneuver around your face, even with a 7-foot-long cord attached to it.

Compact, solid, and heavy for its diminutive size, the Wahl Peanut Clipper feels like it means business. It has only one switch, which turns the device on or off, and that switch feels as sturdy and high-quality as the rest of the machine. Underneath the Peanut’s shell (sorry) is a powerful single-speed rotary motor that pairs nicely with the trimmer’s stainless-steel blades to cut through any type of hair.

Performance

Barbers who have used the Wahl Peanut Trimmer professionally, say this clipper is tough enough to survive a few years at a time in a high-volume shop. Home users will be able to get many years of service out of it, making it a great investment.

Ease Of Maintenance

The Wahl Peanut Clipper is easy to clean and maintain without breaking out the screwdriver. It’s also lighter, smaller, and much easier to maneuver than other professional clippers and trimmers. Because it’s so well built, the Wahl Peanut Clipper is bound to last home users for years—a claim that numerous online testimonials do back up.

Most professional-grade trimmers or clippers require a screwdriver for basic cleaning or adjustment, but maintaining the Wahl Peanut is easy and tool-free. After using the trimmer, all you need to do is to pop the blade off with your thumb, brush out any hair out of the base where the motor mates with the blade, run the blade under water, dry it off, and then apply lubricating oil to the whole works. By doing so, your trimmer will last you for years to come.

Weight & Dimensions

The Professional Peanut is exceedingly compact, measuring only 4 inches in length and weighing only 4 ounces. This compact construction makes it much easier for you to hold the clipper, especially if you have small hands.

Additionally, the size of the clipper makes it simple to maneuver, and reduces the chance of you losing control and messing up your haircut.

Customer Reviews

You might find more popular trimmers out there, but most people who have bought the Wahl Peanut Clipper seem to be very satisfied with it.

On Amazon alone, the black version of the Wahl Peanut currently has a 4½-star overall rating (out of 5) across over 890 reviews, with 71 percent of those awarding it five stars. A slightly older, white iteration has reviews from over a 1000 people and a 4.6-star overall rating, with 74 percent of those being five-star reviews.

  • Warranty

Wahl covers the Peanut with a one-year warranty. Chances are good that you won’t need it. If properly maintained, the Wahl Peanut Clipper can last for two or three years of heavy, daily use. If you are only going to be using this on yourself, perhaps a few times a week for a few minutes at a time, the life expectancy should be greatly extended.

That said, if you break any of the Peanut’s accessories or require a new blade outside of Wahl’s warranty period, you’ll find no end of replacement parts online at Amazon or at a number of barber- and salon-specific sites.

  • Value For Money

The Wahl Peanut clipper/trimmer is an excellent value for the money. It is an extremely affordable choice and can be used by the whole family. Compared to the average cost of a barber visit, the Peanut will pay for itself in less than four uses.

So if you are looking for a versatile and high-performing pair of clippers, this is the way to go.

  1. Years ago, one could buy hair trimmers that DIDN’T SHAVE THE HEAD. But trimmed it to say 2 or 3 inches in length? Is there a company in the UK that makes hair trimmers like this? I don’t fancy Robocut or Flowbee!

    Thanks in advance.

  3. I am looking to buy a clipper/trimmer/groomer.
I am a female with fine hair and I was looking at getting a Wahl peanut, or just a portable clipper, but I can’t make a decision yet. I want one I can either get with or buy a “detail” extension for, like the tattoo blade, so I can shave designs into my cut, but I don’t know what the best to buy would be.

    help. please.

I’m open to any brands, prices, etc. But quality and low price is preferred. thanks!

  4. I’m a guy with kind of hairy legs. My hair is more frizzy instead of long so it just looks odd and is annoying. I have a wahl hair trimmer that someone gave me and it works a little too good. I tested it out on a section of my leg and the sucker took all the hair off to the skin just like a razor would. Instead of leaving that odd patch I just did both legs with it so it will grow out even and that only took like 5 minutes. I’m looking for a trimmer that will not take all the hair off to the skin so what kind should I look for? I’m a bit broke so i’ll more than likely be looking at Walmart for one.

  5. I get the general sense that you’ll spend 100+ for some good clippers. I’m leaning towards oster classic76
